Your eyes are often called the
windows of your soul, giving your face character and expression. Eyelid surgery
is a relatively small surgical procedure that can have a big effect on your
appearance. Sagging, swollen eyelids can cause you to seem tired and stressed.
Deep, dark rings and bags under your eyes may cause you to look depressed and
exhausted. During eyelid surgery, excess, baggy skin is removed and the
underlying tissues are gently lifted back to their original youthful position.
In rare cases, small deposits of excess fatty tissue can be removed while the
supportive tissues and muscles around the eyes will be firmed and
strengthened.
Expert, detailed advice about eyelid surgery, the most
frequently performed procedure in our practice, can be given to you in your
private consultation complete with "before and after" pictures of our clients.
Upper Lid Eye Surgery (Upper Lid Blepharoplasty)
This upper
eyelid plastic surgery is, together with corrective nose surgery, the most
frequently performed facial plastic surgery. The excess skin is removed and the
eyelid is firmed in a procedure that can be performed in the surgeon's ambulant
practice under local anaesthesia or induced state of drowsiness (conscious
sedation). This relatively low risk, uncomplicated surgery takes about an hour
and is often performed together with a facelift.
Lower Lid Surgery
(Lower lid Blepharoplasty)
You can rid yourself of circles and bags under
your eyes with a lower lid firming procedure. Lower lid corrections can be
accomplished through an incision made under the edge of the eyelid. If there is
no necessity to remove excess skin, the incision can be placed on the inside of
the lower eyelid where it will be invisible.
