Excess skin and fatty tissues in the
abdominal area following larger weight loss or pregnancy can be an unsolvable
problem for a woman. In spite of proper eating habits and exercise, these
problem areas cannot be eliminated in all cases.
Various methods of
treatment are available for these problems and the correct one for each
individual patient depends upon the scope and type of the problem she has. In
some cases, liposuction combined with a less extensive tummy tuck or
mini-abdominoplasty surgery will produce a pleasing and natural looking result.
In the cases where large amounts of excess tissue are present, we recommend a
more extensive abdominal surgery involving a tightening of the abdominal muscles
as well as the removal of excess tissues. The scar from abdominal plastic
surgery lies below the lower abdominal crease and the position of the navel is
adjusted according to each individual case. In a mini tummy tuck, it may be
necessary to lower the position of the navel somewhat.
The correct
method of treatment, which will be the most successful for you personally,
should be decided between you and your surgeon in a detailed private
consultation. Call us for expert advice and help in solving your problem.
